Black Swan Rising

Black Swan Rising by Lee Carroll
Recently I have finished reading Black Swan Rising. It is a story about Garet James who has a hidden destiny that her mother kept secret from her. She lost her mother at the age of 16 and was never told about the past of her ancestors. Then her father was shot at there home/gallery in New York. She decides to take matters into her own hands when her father is being accused for a robbery and shooting himself. Strange events start to happen when she is given a silver box that has been sealed closed by an elderly man in an antiques store. He requests her to take it and open it and then return it the next day. Thieves break into her house and steal valuable as well as the box that she had opened hours before. While investigating the theft and shooting of her father she comes across a newspaper article with a man standing under an archway with her Black Swan crest on it. She meet the man, Will hughes, who she finds out to be a stunning four hundred year old vampire that new her ancestors. Things start to get very strange for her as there had been multiple attempt on her life. She finds out that she is different, that she is a Watchtower who is to protect the divide between the human world and the summer country, a supernatural world where vampires, fairies, pixies, and many other creatures live. One of her new friends teaches her about her powers and how to find the man who stole the box to bring destruction the human world. She succeeds in stopping the destruction of the world but her vampire lover and the box disappear. She finds herself with out all of her supernatural friends but still has all her magic. Will she find her friends? Will they reappear in the next book or will the story completely change?
This is an amazing story of destruction, fantasy, love and friendship. The story is slow till a couple of chapters in but then things really pick up the pace. The love between Will and Garet is an addiction and you want to know where he is next going to pop up and how their relationship is going to advance. There is a very good twist in the story towards the end with one of her newly acquired friends. Garet herself is a strong character that has not confidence. She is a character that doesn’t take things lightly and will always do her best to finish something. She looks more after other people than herself. When she is learning her magic there isn’t anything that she can’t learn, she was quick to learn and to become strong.
I recommend this book to anybody, whether you like vampires or not the book is definitely in my must reads. If you can’t wait for the next one you don’t have long, The Watchtower by Lee Carroll, the second in the series, will be out on the 4th August. I definitely rate this a 5 star book.
Enjoy all my little viewers. Have a good read.
Easy A
Easy A
Easy A is a film Iwould defiantly recommend for a girls night it. The chick flick has light romance in it as well as a high comedy rate and the humiliation rate is of the charts. The film is inspired on the book The Scarlett Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne.
The film is made to look like a guide of what not to do in high school. The film follows Olive Penderghast, Emma Stone, through a few weeks of her high school life where she goes from being a grade A student to be a grade A “slut”. This all occurs because of a simple lie that turned into a rumour by Marianne Bryant, Amanda Bynes, the schools christian preacher. As the film progresses the lies get bigger and worse. To help her bad reputation stick better she helps one of her old friends, Brandon, who gets bullies for being a homosexual. She pretends to have sex with him so he can seem straight and so that her image can keep going up. Girls start to call her a “slut” and other names, while the boys use her to help build their images as well. later in the film one of the students from Marianne’s christian group gets an STI, from a teacher, and he blames Olive. She decides to help the teacher, Mrs Griffith played by Lisa Kudrow, out and keep the lie so that Mrs Griffith can keep her job. She starts to feel really depressed that everybody was using her but hadn’t actually asked her out on a date. While contemplating that thought a guy from one of her classes asks her out on a date. when the get to the restaurant Olive has to leave because her best friend is sitting a few tables away, while Olive is sitting with her best friends crush. After leaving the restaurant the guy tries to pay her off while forcing himself on her, thinking that she was actually a “slut” and that she was really having sex with everyone that had said. Todd, Olive’s crush, takes her home as he had just finished his shift at the restaurant. He tells her about how he likes her and how he doesn’t believe any of the rumour that were going around the school. Olive decides to convince the people she helped the confess that it was all a lie. However everybody that she helped has either left or wont confess. She then decides to make a video that states everything that people have said was a lie and that people were just using her. In the end she starts to date Todd her childhood crush and states that what people had said was a lie as well as none of their bussiness.
I defiantly recommend this film. The soundtrack is also a bonas part that I would recommend. The whole film was entertaining. Here is the trailer, enjoy.
Fallen by Lauren Kate
So I have read Fallen a couple of times now, and i still find the book amazing. it is one of those books that is really easy to read because you get so addicted to it. You want to find out what the connection between the two main characters are, lucinda Price and Daniel Grigori. Luce fells like she has known him from somewhere but she cant place her finger on where from. I would defiantly recommend the book and it is now part of a series of books and it is going to be made into a film series by Warner Brothers. Hope you enjoy the book and here is the cover of fallen and also the second book in the series torment.

The cover of fallen.
The cover to Torment part 2 in the series. Watch out for more parts, part 2 to be released on 28th September 2010.
Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick
Ok so I have finished reading Hush Hush and it only took me one day to read. The book is so amazing and addicting. Basically the plot is confusing when you look back at it, but when reading it your able to keep up with everything that happens. Nora Grey, the narrator and one of the main characters, is forced to sit with the new transfer student, patch Cipriano, that no one knows. One his first day sitting next to her he manages to completely freak her out by explaining that he knows everything about her, from what her favourite colour is to what she sleeps in or more like what she doesn’t. Since the first time he sat next to her she had weird feelings; Wondering and feeling that he isn’t normal. As time progresses she finds herself drawn to him, no matter how much she hates it. One of the mysteries, that there is to solve in the book, is that a guy starts following her and attempts to kill her several times but fails due to her good luck. Towards the end of the book she researches angels and starts to compare Patch and his weird “powers” to them. She also finds out that Patch in fact is a fallen angel, evil angel, that had fallen in love with a human and had his wings ripped off. The book has a very big twist at the end that I didn’t see coming. I loved the book and would recommend it to anyone. And I mean anyone. Hope you read and enjoy it. Here is a book trailer for anyone who wants to know more.
Hush Hush
I am one of these people who will read four books at once, and be able to keep track of all of them. So I am here to give a brief review of the book Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick. I have only read a taster of this book but as it goes I am now officially addicted. The First four chapters are the chapters that lure you in. Then at the end of chapter four it hits you like a tonne of bricks, in a good way, so that you can’t put the book down. I am trying to get the book so that I can finish it and do full review on the book, but I can’t wait to read it. I have also seen that there is going to be a sequel called Crescendo. I haven’t heard anything out about this book however, I will keep tabs on it, I have heard that it will be released in autumn.
So for now enjoy Hush Hush because I know I will.
The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus
So last Thursday my diploma class and one other when to the cinema to watch “The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus”. So when the movie started we, Sherice and I thought that the movie would be great, seeing as it has Johnny Depp and Heath Ledger in. However I quickly lost the plot and didn’t know what was happening in the film. The film was weird and full of bright and random colours when entering peoples’ imaginations, but it wasn’t a film I would watch again or recommend. There were some funny points in the film, however they were out shadowed by the not so funny points. The ending to the film is rather abrupt as well, i won’t spoil it for you people who havn’t watched it and want to so SPOILER ALERT , but it’s one of those run off into the sunset with their one true love. I found a trailer on the web so I though here you go.
So here is a tribute to Heath Ledger for his last film.
26th November 2009
Today is my dad’s birthday. Woot, but I’m at college having finished my work and now having nothing to do. At the moment I’m listening to music while writing. Anyway, it is thursday so half way through the week and it has been so boring. I have had loads of coursework to do and I’m still working on lowering the pile so that means any plans that I had for the weekend have been forgotten about. I’m really not happy about staying home and spending the weekend on homework when I could be out having fun, but thats the way that things have to be at least next week I should be able to go out and hang out with my friends. Oh my sister and I are going to have an event going soon in the new year. We liked the Sony Ericsson advert so much that we are going to do one going through rochester.
Ze Frank
Ze Frank let the audience decide what he says in one of his episodes.
He explain so many points in few minutes; He talks about france, well takes the mick out of it. He sings to gain your attention. He also talk really fast. Ze Frank makes video blogging fun to watch and to listen to, he also adds pictures in so your not just getting a video of of him. Unfortunatly I could not find the 06-09-06 episode on youtube so here is the 02-07-07 episode. Enjoy.
New Moon
So, this weekend has only just started but, it ts already br
illiant. Yesterday was the 20th, which ment that New Moon was in cinemas for the first time. I had previously booked tickets, because it was selling out really fast and I wouldn’t have got tickets for the first week, let alone the first day.
